Nutrient Solution¶
The nutrient solution is water dosed with the minerals plants require. Two parameters are measured and regulated continuously: EC (nutrient concentration) and pH (availability of those nutrients).
Two-Part Nutrients¶
A two-part (A + B) system separates incompatible elements to prevent precipitation before mixing.
| Part | Contains |
|---|---|
| Part A | Calcium (Ca), Iron (Fe), trace elements |
| Part B | Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Magnesium (Mg), Sulphur (S) |
Mix A and B separately into the water — never directly together.
Target Ranges¶
| Parameter | Seedling | Vegetative | Fruiting |
|---|---|---|---|
| EC (µS/cm) | 300–500 | TBD | TBD |
| pH | 5.5–6.0 | 5.5–6.5 | TBD |
| Water temp (°C) | TBD | 18–22 | TBD |
pH Correction¶
| Direction | Dose |
|---|---|
| Lower pH | pH-Down (phosphoric acid) via acid pump |
| Raise pH | pH-Up (potassium hydroxide) via base pump |
Dosing is automated by the Liquid Dispensing actor, triggered by the pH and EC sensors. Nutrients are adjusted before pH to avoid over-correction.
