Humidity Sensing¶
Purpose¶
Relative humidity (RH) in the grow space affects plant transpiration, disease pressure, and VPD. Combined with air temperature, it is used to calculate VPD and drive the ventilation and humidification actors.
Hardware¶
- Sensor: TBD (e.g. HTU21D, SHT31, DHT22, AM2315)
- Interface: TBD (I²C / GPIO)
- Placement: at canopy height, among or just above plants for representative readings
Integration¶
- Polling interval: TBD
- Acceptable range: TBD (crop-dependent; typically 50–70% RH vegetative)
- Combined with air temperature to compute VPD
- High RH triggers Air Regulation actor (exhaust fan)
- Low RH triggers Humidifier actor
